Staff Device WiFi

River Oaks Church - Updated August 2026

River Oaks staff devices

River Oaks staff devices are enrolled in Jamf. Jamf delivers the approved WiFi configuration and credentials through a managed configuration profile. Staff do not enter church WiFi credentials, create the network manually, or register the device through the WiFi request form.

If a staff device does not connect at River Oaks:

  1. Do not enter shared credentials, create a manual WPA2/3 Enterprise configuration, forget and recreate the network, or register its MAC address.
  2. Leave the device powered on so it can check in with Jamf.
  3. Contact Technology and include the staff member, device, building or room, when the issue started, and the message shown on screen.

Technology should verify that the device is enrolled and checking in to Jamf, that it is in the correct scope, and that the approved WiFi configuration profile is installed. WiFi credentials must not be sent to the staff member or included in a support ticket.

Unmanaged and special-purpose devices

Personal devices, volunteer or band-member devices, and IoT or special-purpose equipment do not use this staff-device workflow. Technology should first identify the device class and then use its approved onboarding process. MAC-based access is an exception for specifically supported devices; it is not a general fallback for a staff device that is missing its Jamf profile.

When the device class is unclear, stop and ask Technology rather than trying each WiFi onboarding method.
